What should New York Christians do now?

Every election day I wake up to mixed emotions from everyone around me. One thing has always remained, no matter the outcome: God is still great and His Kingdom is everlasting. Until He comes, I pray, I proclaim the Good News, and in America, I’m thankful to vote.

So what should New York Christians do now?

The same thing we hopefully did for Trump.

Pray for our elected officials and Zohran Mamdani.

If you believe Zohran is a bad choice for NYC, then see it as your motivation to continue to be on mission and show how the love of God triumphs over all false ideologies, idols, religions, and hate. Pray for your city and its leaders.

What to ward against?

Complaining, bitterness, catastrophizing (Rome was 5,000 times worse), wondering if God still reigns, and hopelessness.

If you believe Zohran is a good choice for NYC, then see it as your motivation to continue to be on mission and show how the love of God triumphs over all false ideologies, idols, religions, and hate. Pray for your city and its leaders.

What to ward against?

Misplaced hope in human leaders who will always fail.

1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

The Good News will always be the greatest power unto salvation!
