Lord you are gracious
You give gifts I don’t deserve.

Lord you are merciful
You withhold your wrath from me.

Lord you are slow to anger
You are patient when I am weak.

Lord you abound in steadfast love
You have never turned away from me.

Lord you relent over disaster
You do not want to see my destruction.

A collect to remind ourselves of who God is when we need to repent. From the verse Joel 2:13b:

Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.
