Living like fools
In a foolish world
Take all you can!
They say
I give it away.
Work harder!
I rest in Him.
Be strong!
I am weak.
Your body is your own!
I’ve given mine away.
Live your best life!
I have died.
Be independent!
I am dependent.
Take pride!
I am broken.
Save yourself!
I was lost.
A fool to fools
Does that make me wise?
“The foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of man.” 1 Cor. 1:25
Sometimes I feel crazy. People around me look at me strangely or question why in the world I made the decisions I did.
The decision may have seemingly made my life harder.
Or it wasn’t financially sound.
The truth is, God’s wisdom seems so profoundly ridiculous to humans because the system we have learned from and been taught is at odds with the system God calls us to.
It’s a completely different way. The opposite way, in fact. “You have heard it said…” was how Jesus started so many radical (to us) teachings.
So when we come across how God calls us to live, to speak plainly, it just sounds stupid.
It turns off so many because it seems impossible, foolish, or unworkable.
